On 26 February the South African Revenue Service (SARS) called for comment on the draft schedule and notes to the Harmonised System 2022 (HS2022), which is due by 30 April.
According to SARS’ Explanatory Note the changes in HS2022 reflect the amendments to the nomenclature appended to the International Convention on the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System (HS Convention), which were accepted as a result of the Customs Co-operation Council's (now the World Customs Organization or WCO) recommendations of 28 June 2019. These amendments will enter into force on 01 January 2022.
